Global Partners asks MassDOT to reconsider contract to foreign Applegreen
Waltham, MA based Global Partners has sent a letter to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and its Board of Directors asking they reconsider the contract awarded to foreign company Applegreen for the lease and operation of 18 service plazas throughout the state. They specifically ask for a "fair, transparent and unbiased rebid."
The letter states there is evidence of a conflict of interest, specifically naming head of the selection committee, Scott Bosworth and his connection to Suffolk Construction CEO John Fish.
Additionally, the letter charged there were ignored revenue findings, including Global's guarantee to the state of $1.512 billion in minimum annual rent over the life of the lease, which they say was unmatched by any bid in the process. You can read the whole letter below:

Looking forward to going through this. Thanks for
sharing. Great work!
